This book was released on 1st october 2003, and is probably the ultimate collectors item for fans of Lemony Snicket. The book is one of a strictly limited edition of just 1,000 copies worldwide. Each copy is beautifully bound in black leather with gilt lettering, and a colour il,lustration on the front cover. Each copy is housed in a black slipcase, again with gilt lettering to the front, stating.....

Each copy is hand signed on the front page, with the inscription "Daniel Handler. Official representative of Lemony Snicket" (Daniel Handler is the real name of the author)
The book is printed on very high quality paper, and there are illustrations throughout - both colour and black-and-white
All in all its a beautifully presented book, and one which will undoubtedly appeal to collectors of this popular author. The publishers are planning to release all of the titles in the series in this format over the coming months.
I know its a little bit early to talk of such things, but this would make a great Christmas present for any (very lucky!) fan of Lemony Snicket
