This is the second volume of the fantastic Farperoo (Farperoo is Book 1 of the Dark Inventions series).
This particular version is the "Elements Bi- Graph" edition, whch will feature a colourful bookplate featuring 2 letters of the Enochian alphabet, and a mandala featuring a single elements colour in its centre - either air (yellow), fire (red), earth (green) or water (blue). Each bookplate is unique, as due to the combinations of Enochian letters and elements colour. The author will also sign and date alongside the bookplate as in Volume 1, and a thumbprint will cross the page and the bookplate to prove that the book was signed and dated after the bookplate was attached.
"During Lucy Blakes absence the city of Assiah has descended into turmoil. The Sisters of Perpetual Mercy are destroying the world in their search for the storyteller and Lucy is briefly tempted to give up her own life to ensure Assiahs survival. With the help, and sometimes the hindrance of various gargoyles, groundlings and bizarre giant birds, she makes her way to the house of Doctor Dee, an alchemist, angel-speaker and sorcerer who appears to hold the key to these shocking events. Dee is in the thrall of Dragonard though, a sadistic Emperor and owner of the fabled mechanical nursery. This one time ruler of Assiah has been stripped of his power by the sisters, but still has enough authority to command a performance from Lucy and Genjamin, a ventriloquists dummy with an insatiable passion for choc-lit biscuits. Against a chilling background of persecution and torture, Lucy Blake delves deeper into the bowels of the city, uncovering a sinister plot against the commoners and discovering her magickal abilities in the process. During her time in the city she must deal with giant slugs, explore magickal libraries and do battle with the rampaging Vooghul. Worst of all though, she must endure the constant verbal attention of Zenda Freggley, a reporter who has claimed the entire world of Assiah for her newspaper. What is the secret behind the Tetravox? Who is Lundrumguffa, and why can he speak to the dead? And where exactly does the mermaid fit in? Will the Golden Boat of Ra allow them to escape, or is it another trap? And who or what is an ornithopter? "
