For sale here is a copy of the VERY limited "Directors Special Limited Edition" of Charmiaan Hussey's highly acclaimed "The Valley of Secrets".
Only 102 copies of this version exist, each of which is signed by the author and illustrator directly onto the title page, plus being numbered out of 102, with the wording "D.S.L.E. XX/102" (D.S.L.E. being Directors Special Limited Edition)
This edition is different to the standard hardback edition, in that the boards are of a darker green, with a gold flower embossed onto both the front and back. The book is also housed in a matching green slipcase, with flowers to match those on the book embossed in gold to the front and rear.
The success of "The Valley of Secrets" has been truly astounding, with the UK rights having been bought up by Hodder & Stoughton, and the international rights now sold in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, Portugal, Denmark, etc etc - it has effectively become one of the very few truly global books of our time, and is surely set to be considered an all time classic.
I have a very limited number of these editions available for sale. They are now completely sold out at the publishers.
Despite being a true first edition, first impression, copies of this edition have never before been offered for sale. They were printed simultaneously with the first edition hardback run of 225 copies, and the 3,000 paperbacks. They were cretaed as a special limited edition for the Directors and team at Saint Piran Press, and as such have never been seen outside of the company offices.
